Wireless column strain measurement 

This system measures and documents whether the columns are loaded symmetrically or asymmetrically when the mould is closed. The measuring set consists of 8 sensors, the measurement data is transmitted wirelessly to evaluation software installed on the laptop / tablet. It enables tolerance limits to be defined for the asymmetrical percentage of the load on the columns. According to the defined tolerance, the evaluation software displays in colour whether the columns are correctly adjusted or if action is required (e.g. readjustment of the columns). Furthermore, the measured values including the acquisition parameters can be professionally documented with the help of the evaluation software. Regular use of the column strain measurement system allows problems such as column breaks or mould squeezing to be detected at an early stage and, if necessary, major damage to be prevented.
